<WalterOS2> 2. wdl, our new iterim Secretary is logging the meeting for us. :-)
<WalterOS2> 3. OLD BUSINESS
<WalterOS2> a. I mentioned in the BOD meeting, but Vaughn Bender has resigned as Marketing Director: he felt he needed more time with his family--he does have 4 children.
<WalterOS2> b. VOICE hasn't has a Secretary for a long time
<WarpedOS2> Walter that is 3 children.. :-)
<WalterOS2> At the BOD we appointed Bill as Interim Secretary until our next election.
<WarpedOS2> unless you are counting my wife as one...hehehe
<WalterOS2> That's what I doing..yes. :-)
<WalterOS2> Hi Vaughn. :-)
<WarpedOS2> better make sure I clear the screen or might get hit by flying objects... Hi Walter
<WalterOS2> c. Ken: What is the URL of VOICE2?
<KenKrchnr> URL or IP?
<WalterOS2> Sorry: IP.
<KenKrchnr> IP is 206.135.240.102
<WalterOS2> I'm having a bad weekend with the Internet!
<WalterOS2> Is that fixed?
<KenKrchnr> We currently have a test machine for Doug at 206.135.240.98
<KenKrchnr> Yes, they are static addresses.
<WalterOS2> OK, thanks. I think I'll be writing to you later about trying to setting my own server. I can't seem to the the URL and IP to connect with each other.
<WalterOS2> setting=setting up
<KenKrchnr> VOICE2 currently runs www.warpdoctor.org, warpdoctor.org, www.webbnet.info and irc.fyrelizard.com
<WarpedOS2> what is it...linux or OS/2 system?
<KenKrchnr> We're all OS/2 here.
<WalterOS2> OS/2 naturally.
<KenKrchnr> That particular machine is eCS 1.1
<WarpedOS2> that's good
<eCSNL> That stack is very good....
<WalterOS2> I'm not a masochist. :-)
<eCSNL> BTW use the TCP/IP tuner on CD 2...
<WalterOS2> Same here.
<eCSNL> That will make it even more solid!
<WarpedOS2> where on cd2?
<eCSNL> of eCs 1.1
<eCSNL> Just start install.cmd
<eCSNL> and goto the networking menu....
<eCSNL> There you will find the TCP/IP tuner...
<KenKrchnr> VOICE2 also is backup for www.os2voice.org, os2voice.org, os2voice.com, www.warpstock.org and de.os2voice.org
<WalterOS2> Any idea how much space all that is taking up?
<KenKrchnr> It's about 15G total
<WalterOS2> Interesting.
<KenKrchnr> I didn't put the hobbes backup or the DDK stuff on it.
<WalterOS2> Who needs 250G hard drives when your using eCS-OS/2?
<KenKrchnr> Oh yeah, it also has mail backup and forums.os2voice.org
<WarpedOS2> got it and did it...thanx eCSnl
<WalterOS2> 4. NEW BUSINESS
<WalterOS2> a. No Treasurer's Report
<WalterOS2> Peter's not still camping. Apparently he's quite ill and so is offline. Telephone calls to his place get only an answering machine.
<WalterOS2> We are in the process of arranging an Assistant Treasurer so that we'll have someone to step in when Peter is down.
<WalterOS2> b. Things to do
<WalterOS2> i. Arrange interim Secretary (and Assistant Treasurer)--Bill has agreed to serve as Interim Secretary.
<WalterOS2> ii I would like to my name and info to Help Desk under Roderick's.
<WalterOS2> like to=like to add
<WalterOS2> After a dozen "I don't know'" I'll probably take it off. :-)
<WalterOS2> Before everyone leaves, any comments.
<WalterOS2> This is going to be a very short meeting..
<Rat-Salad> I can add your info.. just send it to me
<WalterOS2> OK, will do.
<WalterOS2> BTW, did you get the suggestion for a new look to the VOICE web site I sent awhile ago?
<Rat-Salad> no, I haven't gotten anything
<Rat-Salad> I've suddenly developed mail problems
<WarpedOS2> Jeremy I sent you one
<WarpedOS2> same one I sent Walter
<eCSNL> I have a remark...
<WalterOS2> Yes I've Jeremy two emails almost back-to-back today and both bounced at his mail server.
<WalterOS2> Go ahead Roderick..
<eCSNL> On the point of support...
<eCSNL> With the OS/2 edition of august
<eCSNL> my phone number was mentioned
<eCSNL> Could this be put under the header "help desk" of voice...
<WalterOS2> Out of curiosity, why would you prefer it there?
<eCSNL> Because its now mentioned...
<eCSNL> On the page of august...
<eCSNL> Of the os/2 news letter....
<eCSNL> I have until not noticed it was also placed UNDER the voice news letter of september :-)
<eCSNL> But I suggest this is put UNDER the section helpdesk
<eCSNL> A much more logical place to put it...
<WalterOS2> I think far fewer people will see it there.
<WalterOS2> A good idea might be to put it under the HelpDesk section as you suggestion, and then put a link to it on the front page. If you look carefully, the Newsletter is not ACTUALLY on the front page, but simply has a link to it.
<WalterOS2> suggestion=suggest
<WalterOS2> Jeremy, what do you think?
<WalterOS2> thinks Jeremy's fixing his mail server.
<KenKrchnr> BTW Walter, http://irc.fyrelizard.com now = http://www.webbnet.info
<WalterOS2> eCSNL: I'll leave that weighty matter for you and Jeremy to work out. :-)
<eCSNL> oke
<WarpedOS2> try the pic at http://www.flbsd.mb.ca/ftpfiles/pics/techstuff/mine/newvoice.jpg
<WalterOS2> Ken: What is his email address?
<KenKrchnr> Who??
<WalterOS2> Jeremy's: Has it changed?
<KenKrchnr> No, that's the same. Only the webbnet home page has changed.
<WalterOS2> OK
<WalterOS2> Ken, maybe you and I could talk now, since things are so quiet. ??
<KenKrchnr> Sure
<WarpedOS2> Walter...the pic I sent you is at this link where everyone can look at it: http://www.flbsd.mb.ca/ftpfiles/pics/techstuff/mine/newvoice.jpg
<WalterOS2> Here's the deal. I have a static IP 65.48.158.205 that I got through DYNDNS.ORG
<WalterOS2> I also have a domain WMETCALF.COM which is delegated to use the DYNDNS.ORG nameservers. (I hope I'm getting the terms straight.
<KenKrchnr> So far so good.
<WalterOS2> I also have a router using a NAT firewall in a router. Behind the router is LAN. All the machines except one are set up as DHCP. One is static, and on that one I have a Domino Webserver setup.
<WalterOS2> I can access the Web Server using any of my workstations on the LAN, but on from outside the LAN.
<WalterOS2> Everywhere that I can check HOSTIP WMETCALF.COM = 65.48.158.205
<KenKrchnr> Is your ISP connection a static ip?
<WalterOS2> NO.
<WalterOS2> My router is setup as Dynamic IP on the WAN side.
<KenKrchnr> Do you have the dynamic ip being updated at dyndns.org?
<wdl> Need to know - are we still a VOICE meeting? Logging, donchaknow?
<WalterOS2> Let's close the meeting.
<WalterOS2> All in favour of adjourning type Aye.
<KenKrchnr> Aye
<wdl> Aye
<WalterOS2> Aye
<WalterOS2> Carried. Meeting is adjourned.
